Snack Cap: When the Forest Bites Back

Snack Cap: When the Forest Bites Back

In the forgotten corners of the forest, where pink haze coils like smoke and silence hums louder than birdsong, there’s a place you shouldn’t wander. People say the mushrooms there grow... differently. One in particular—fat-capped, crimson, and eternally drooling—doesn’t just feed on decay.

It hunts.

I call it Snack Cap.

Perched at the center of the illustration is the beastly fungi in question: a large red-capped mushroom, slick with saliva, flanked by smaller kin like loyal minions. From its hungry mouth dangles a limp mouse tail, the rest presumably already consumed. On the mossy ground in front of it lies the tail’s grim partner—a tiny mouse skull. Behind it all, a dreamy pink haze rises like a poisonous breath, blurring the line between whimsy and danger.

The vibe? Slightly cute. Definitely unsettling. A little fairytale, a little freakshow. Just the way I like it.

How Snack Cap Was Born

The idea for Snack Cap didn’t come from a sketchbook—it came from a conversation. My brother-in-law and I were throwing around weird, fun ideas for new T-shirt designs (as we often do), when he casually mentioned, “What about… a mushroom eating a mouse?”

We both laughed. Then I paused.

“I’m picturing it standing there,” I said, “mouse’s tail hanging from its mouth like it just finished lunch.”

And that was it. The seed was planted—twisted, maybe, but definitely inspired.

I’ve always loved blending nature with the unexpected. Forests aren’t just peaceful; they’re full of strangeness, survival, and stories waiting to be imagined. Snack Cap was my way of giving that idea teeth. And a tail.

Wear It, If You Dare

The Snack Cap illustration is now available on T-shirts and hoodies for those who love their fashion with a side of freaky forest lore. It’s creepy. It’s cool. It’s a snack-hungry shroom with style.

Looking for shoes or other merch? You’ll find those on cirocorreia.com same universe, just a different trail through the woods. 🖤🍄
