Testing continues on Scene 2 of Swamp Noir, the short animation I’m directing. The background painting and environment work still aren’t finished, and none of the character animation has been added yet, but I wanted to see how the scene would feel in motion before pushing further into production.
Even at this rough stage — with timings still unrefined and large parts of the set incomplete — the atmosphere is already starting to come together surprisingly well. I especially wanted to test the drifting fragrance cloud blowing out from the jungle toward the windows, where the animals will eventually watch it pass by. That movement and mood are becoming exactly the kind of strange noir dreaminess I was hoping for.
The video below is the completed test pass for the scene so far.
