Swamp noir update: Scene 1 and 2 plus sound

Swamp noir update: Scene 1 and 2 plus sound

Warning: Flashing lights in the video.

Progress on Swamp Noir continues steadily, with the first two scenes now largely matching the original storyboard. It's still very much a work in progress, but the overall structure and pacing are beginning to settle into place.

There is still a fair amount left to do. Several of the windows in the jungle lodge are currently placeholders and will need their individual cel animations added. I've also started planning some of the additional animal characters that will populate the scene, including a gorilla and several others that will help bring more life and personality to the environment. The baboon has now been animated and integrated into the sequence, marking the first of these background characters to make it into the film.

The soundtrack and sound design are also beginning to take shape. Most of the key audio elements are now roughly in place, although I expect to continue refining and rebuilding large portions of the sound mix as the animation develops. As with the visuals, the goal at this stage is less about polish and more about establishing rhythm, atmosphere, and ensuring that all of the moving parts are working together.

Slowly but surely, the world of Swamp Noir is starting to feel alive.
