The theatre of absurdity

I set off trying to make something which sat within the Zero side of my artistic identity (an explanation of my 2 identities), working with a sketch, watercolour and then ink. Personally I don’t like the result. It’s somewhere between cuphead and something else. At a point the name I had for it was The Theatre of absurdity. As I worked on it it seemed to shrink and constrict. It’s definitely more Zero than Ciro and even though I don’t like the result perhaps others might appreciate its strangeness. Thus it finds its way onto a blog post.. perhaps it will grow on me?

The theatre of the absurd - final sketch in a cartoonish style

This illustration started its life in my sketchbook as ‘Master Berkensweeller’s theatre of the near absurd’… idea sketch below. I think at times it might be better just to take the rough a bit further before committing but hey ho nothing is ever a waste of time.
