The Table of Apologies and Forgiveness
There is said to be a table that exists somewhere beyond the final breath.
It bears no judgement. It demands no confession. It offers no punishment. Those who arrive simply sit.
Before them are the burdens they carried longest—not their possessions, titles or achievements, but the apologies never spoken, the forgiveness never offered, the grief never released, and the love withheld until it was too late.
Nothing is taken from them. Nothing is forced upon them.
The table waits.
Some remain only moments. Others, it is whispered, remain for what feels like centuries. No one can continue their journey while clinging to what should have been laid down in life. Whether the table is a place, a state of being, or simply a story told among the departed is unknown.
Those who speak of it rarely agree on its appearance. Yet they all remember the same feeling.
Relief.
