Archive 01 — The man who sweeps Mercer street

For more than seventy years, photographs of Mercer Street have captured the same municipal worker sweeping its pavements. The city has changed. His uniform has changed. He hasn't.

Archive Entry — Jupiter
Status: Card recovered. Among the recovered cards, Jupiter remains one of the most debated. Traditional tarot scholars continue to argue that it should not exist at all, insisting it replaces an older archetype that has since been forgotten. Whether this was Madame Bea's own invention or the remnant of a much older deck has never been established. The following reading appears consistently enough across surviving sources to be regarded as authentic. Upright Expansion. Fortune. Faith. Jupiter blesses those willing to embrace change with humility and courage. It signifies unexpected opportunities,... Read more...
Archive Entry — The Sun
Status: Card recovered. Unlike most surviving cards, this one is rarely described with fear or uncertainty. Those who claim to have held it speak instead of warmth, though none can explain why. Its edges are said to show greater signs of use than any other known card, suggesting it passed through many hands before disappearing once more. The following interpretation is widely accepted among those who study Madame Bea's work. Upright Joy. Hope. Renewal. The Sun illuminates what was hidden and reminds us that love survives even the longest night.... Read more...
Archive Entry — The Moon
Status: Card recovered. The circumstances of its discovery remain uncertain. Accounts differ as to where it was found, though each agrees that those present described an unusual stillness, as though the world itself had paused to listen. Several versions of this card exist in sketches and recollections, but no two are identical. This has led some archivists to suggest that the illustration is less important than the meaning carried by the card itself. The following interpretation is the one most commonly attributed to Madame Bea's deck. Upright Illusion. Intuition. Unfinished... Read more...

The Table of Apologies and Forgiveness There is said to be a table that exists somewhere beyond the final breath. It bears no judgement. It demands no confession. It offers no punishment. Those who arrive simply sit. Before them are the burdens they carried longest—not their possessions, titles or achievements, but the apologies never spoken, the forgiveness never offered, the grief never released, and the love withheld until it was too late. Nothing is taken from them. Nothing is forced upon them. The table waits. Some remain only moments. Others, it is whispered, remain for... Read more...

The Ring That Crossed the Threshold Most possessions remain behind when a life ends. Jewellery tarnishes. Letters fade. Photographs gather dust. The dead carry none of them. There exists, however, a singular account of a man who arrived beyond death with a wedding ring still held in his hand. Whether this was a miracle, an impossibility, or an act of love powerful enough to resist the ordinary laws that govern the passage between worlds has never been resolved. Among those who know the story, the ring is not remembered as an object. It is remembered as... Archive note 11 July — Abe mendes
Among the more curious stories associated with Abe Mendes is his fascination with folded sweet wrappers, carefully shaped into small bows. The significance of this habit has never been satisfactorily explained. Several examples have reportedly been found pressed between the pages of his notebooks. Whether they serve as reminders, keepsakes or something else entirely remains unknown. Read more...

Madame Bea's tarot deck

Jupiter

Fortune favours neither the innocent nor the wicked. It turns its great wheel for those who dare to follow.

The Fool

Every journey begins with a step into the unknown. Only the fool believes the road will lead where it should.

The Moon

Memory casts its shadows across more than one lifetime. Not everything forgotten is truly lost.

The Sun

Even the longest night must surrender to the light. Some truths can only be seen when we stop looking away.

The Prince

There are roads no map remembers and places no compass can find. The Prince knows the way, though he may never tell you where it leads.
